Born in Slovakia, Milan Radi\u010d studied at the Music Academy in Prague with Milan \u0160kampa. He received further artistic instruction from Peter Ochsenhofer at the University for Music in Vienna, from Oskar Lysy in Munich, Ruben Gonzales in Chicago and attended master classes with Josef Ko\u010fousek and Yuri Bashmet.<\/p>\n

Already in early years, he was awarded various prizes and awards, such as First Place awards and special awards at national music competitions in Slovakia and at international competitions in Budapest and subsequently at the Yuri Bashmet Viola Competition in Moscow.<\/p>\n

After five years as principal violist of Century Orchestra Osaka in Japan, Milan Radi\u010d has been principal violist of the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg since 1998. He has also been a teacher at the Mozarteum University since 2008 and a member of the Mozarteum String Quartet since 2009.<\/p>\n

Milan Radi\u010d has performed many times as a soloist with various orchestras in Europe and Japan. In his home country, he premiered the Liturgy for Viola and Orchestra \u201eMourned by the Wind\u201c with the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra in the presence of the Georgian composer Giya Kancheli.<\/p>\n

He has been heard in solo recitals and in chamber music formations at prestigious music festivals such as the Oleg Kagan International Festival in Kreuth, Haydn Festival in Eisenstadt, Schubertiade in Hohenems, Bregenzer Festspiele, Salzburger Festspiele, Concentus Moraviae, Konvergencie, playing with well-known artists such as Natalia Gutman, Juliane Banse, Adriana Ku\u010derov\u00e1, Thomas Riebl, Vladimir Mendelssohn, Jana Bou\u0161kov\u00e1, Henri Sigfridsson, Paul Gulda, Christopher Hinterhuber.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
