Daniel Rumler (born 1988 in Trenčín) is an established Slovak violinist, composer, and arranger who merges precise performance practice with progressive composition. He shaped his musical education and violin performance first at the Pardubice Conservatory, followed by the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (HAMU) and the Lucerne School of Music in Switzerland. He currently deepens his academic and artistic background as a doctoral student at the Faculty of Music Arts at the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica.
As an active violinist and chamber musician, he regularly collaborates with leading musical ensembles and institutions both locally and internationally, including the Slovak Philharmonic, the Swiss ensemble Camerata Zürich, and the international chamber music festival Convergence (Konvergencie). His artistic qualities are further demonstrated by his participation in prestigious recording projects for the renowned label ECM Records and the Swiss public broadcaster SRF. In the field of composition, he focuses on pushing the boundaries of traditional instrumental formats and creating distinctive transcriptions. Among his most significant original works is the Concerto for Bass Guitar and String Orchestra (2023), composed as an official commission for Camerata Zürich. Daniel Rumler stands out today as a versatile and distinctive artistic figure who successfully connects the Slovak music scene with an international context.
