Petia Bagovska PhD professor of double bass of the National Academy of Music-Sofia, Bulgaria. A world known soloist and teacher with extensively activity throughout Europe and USA. She has studied with prof. T. Toshev and prof. F. Petracchi and has been awarded in the national and international competitions. As a guest soloist P. Bagovska has participated in the bass festivals, ISB conventions- USA,leading   master classes in Germany, England, Greece, Finland, Poland and University of Texas,NE University of Chicago and Penn State University-USA.  She has been a jury member for international double bass solo competition in Germany –  J.S. Sperger and in Czech Republic – J. Simandl.

P. Bagovska has performed with Chicago’s Pop orchestra, leading chamber musicians (see www.acmusic.org ; www.chicagobassensemble.com / and has been a soloist of NW Chicago Symphony. She has  released two solo CDs- ‘Gallery’ and ‘One bass one woman’. She has edited books and has published her own – ‘Studies for double bass’ as well articles and bass researches.

Her students are well realized in the world orchestras. The London Magazine, Double bassist- 2000 published the article ‘La voix Bulgarie’ which said ‘when Petia plays, she is a force of nature.’ For more info see www.bagovska.com/bass
